Hi, I'm Juliano Souza.

I'm a software engineer passionate about building systems that interact with the physical world.

Over the past several years, I've worked across the software stack behind autonomous systems—from mobile applications running in the field to cloud-native platforms that process and analyze large volumes of sensor and geospatial data.

My work has focused on drone inspection platforms, computer vision, GIS, distributed systems, and real-time data processing. I've built software for environments where connectivity is limited, data volumes are large, and software decisions directly affect real-world operations.

A significant part of my experience comes from building systems at Pix Force and SkyForest Solutions. These projects involved drone-based inspection workflows, mission planning, geospatial applications, computer vision pipelines, and platforms designed to transform raw field data into actionable information.

The challenges behind these systems are what drive this blog.

This is my engineering notebook.

Rather than writing generic tutorials or reviewing the latest technologies, I use this space to document the concepts, design decisions, trade-offs, and lessons I've encountered while building real systems.

Some articles will explore robotics and drone systems. Others will dive into software architecture, distributed systems, computer vision, GIS, or geospatial computing. But they all share the same goal: explaining why things were built the way they were.

I believe the most valuable engineering knowledge isn't found only in API documentation or architecture diagrams. It's found in the reasoning behind decisions, the constraints that shaped them, the mistakes that exposed weaknesses, and the iterations that made systems better.
